No. Survey Design and Analysis Services (SDAS) as conference organiser will record only the sessions where the speaker has provided explicit approval for their session to be recorded. The recordings will then be made available to registered conference attendees via the SDAS YouTube site. We will notify registered conference attendees when we have made them available.

Are there breaks during the conference?

Due to the very full schedule of this year’s conference, we have not scheduled any designated breaks. We also know conference participants are joining us from a variety of time zones, so we invite you to step away and grab lunch or a coffee whenever is appropriate for your time zone.

I am not from Oceania but I want to buy a book referenced in the conference. How can I do that?

StataCorp has distributors all around the world selling Stata and Stata Press books. If you are in the UK, Portugal or Brazil please contact Timberlake consulting at www.timberlake.co.uk, they will be able to handle your requirements. If you are in Scandinavia, the Baltic states or Russia then you should contact Metrika at statanordic.com. If you are in Malaysia or Singapore then you should contact Columbia CP at columbiacp.com/. If you are somewhere else you can find details of your local distributor at stata.com/worldwide.

Can I access any do-files included in the conference presentations?

If the presenter gives us permission to do so, we will share any do-files on the archive page of oceaniastataconference.net for 2026.

I am unable attend the conference. Are there any resources I could still access?

I didn't receive the email with the Zoom link. What should I do?

If you have tried refreshing your email and it has not appeared, try checking your junk folder. If it is not there, give us a call on +61 2 6247 0177 so we can confirm your email address and resend the email.

Why do I have to have the current version of Zoom to access the conference?

Zoom is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for users of Zoom. As a part of protecting your information and the integrity of their platform Zoom have made a decision to only allow up-to-date versions of Zoom to connect into meetings. You can download the latest version of Zoom by visiting Zoom download centre.

What happens if I drop off the Zoom meeting?

If you drop off the Zoom for any reason, you can reaccess the Zoom meeting using the same link we will have already sent you.

How do I ask a question in the conference?

The easiest way to ask a question during the conference is to place it in the Zoom chat. The conference facilitator will select some questions from the chat to pose to the presenter. At the discretion of the conference facilitator some audience members may be invited to ask their questions live. To use chat go to the Zoom navigation bar click on the chat icon or the more button and select "Chat". Please note your message will only be visible in the Room you are currently in.

A second way to ask a question is to use the "raise your hand" option in Zoom. We will be monitoring for these throughout the day and a conference host will contact you via chat.

I am in the Zoom meeting but cannot hear any sound. What should I do?

When you first enter the Zoom meeting a pop-up may appear prompting you to connect your audio by clicking a button. If your audio is still not working, this could be for a variety of reasons including your headphones are not properly connected, the wrong audio output is selected, or your sound or volume setting need adjusting. For an in-depth guide to troubleshooting visit the Zoom Support guide linked here. If you are still unable to resolve the problem, you are welcome to call us on +61 2 6247 0177.

I am hard of hearing or non-English speaker, does the conference offer a transcript?

To help those with auditory impairment or if you just like to read the subtitles we have activated the Zoom transcript for the meeting. To access this yourself please click on the button at the bottom of your Zoom screen called "Show Captions". This may be found under the “More” button.

If you need to change the way that the subtitles are shown please select the option "Caption settings". You can make the subtitles bigger or smaller. Please note that this does not impact the subtitles for other Zoom meeting participants. Only English subtitles are available for this conference. Please do not attempt to change the language of the subtitles.
